Of the 35 channels I get here in Holland (the *ahem*, "luxury package"), a full 1/3 are local access, with folks talking about their favorite pig, and how much they wish it'd rain. No fooling. :cry:

Every time I hear see the words "paid programming" on my tv screen, I think, hey, I'm paying for programming, so let's see some, dammit!

I don't know if America or the UK is worse either, but when nothing's on I usually default to BBCAmerica!

I like the BBC. When nothing's on I resort to BBC News 24. News 24 hours a day. :o

Seriously. About 3 years ago my TV stopped getting all but two channels, so now I never watch TV and I don’t miss it at all.

Why watch TV, when you obviously have the internet?

Please oh please don't trust what the BBC tells you. Years ago they were objective, but they've long since given that up. It's fine for entertainment, as long as you know it's not meant to be mistaken for fact.

I agree. The program quality is lousy. I find myself watching the Game Show Network, Discovery Health or DVDs. I don't watch network programming at all. Shows that used to be my favorites are now really boring.
