I usually don't get the drug references, either. I guess because I'm not a user. Is
that what "Borderline" is about? It sounds like some kind of withdrawal or love/hate realtionship. Of course, I always took that one literally.
I always wonder about songs that have no apparent meaning, since they are obviously about something important enough to someone to write and record it.
That is one reason I like the CDs with the "Liner Notes" which give not only the lyrics to the song, but brief explanations by the writers about the origins of the song, and what inspired them to write it. If you just download the MP3, you miss out on that kind of stuff.
