What were your parents going to call you but didn't?

My Dad is African American and he says that he wanted to name me Africa (pronounced Ah-freak-ah). I can just imagine how hellish having that name would have been growing up. I'm just glad my Mom is more sensible and I ended up with Erin.

My name wa sgoing to be "Dana Diane" but my intials would have been "DDT" Instead I ended up w/ something much worse and only use my middle name or last name to this day. My maiden last name.

My dad wanted to name me Patricia, so that I could call myself "Pat" if I wanted and avoid some amount of gender-based discrimination when sending in resumes and such. My mom talked him into a more feminine name. I think if I was a boy they were going to call me ...Brent? Something like that.

My mother was thinking of calling me either Rachel or Renee. She decided on "Rachel".

Katarzyna or Oliwia (in that time Oliwia wasn't that bad but now every second baby girl from my country is christianized Oliwia) and I ended up as Magdalena.

I'm sure that if I was a boy, my parents would have still called me Shelby, being that it's a unisex name.

My crazy dad thought that John would have been a perfect name for my sister, Erica.

My dad was going to call me Agamemnon O'Flanagan. I'm not giving away what they actually called me though

I was meant to be called John - unfortunately I turned out to be a girl so they got the closest they could!

My name is Dylan.

If I were a girl, I would be named Natalie. X-P

I was also about to be named Victor, Johnathan, or Elijah.

Elijah woulda been cool. :p

Victoria. But my dad said that with the initials VW I'd be last for everything, so they gave me a name that started with A.

If I were a boy, I would have been Grant. Which now that I think about it, in conjunction with my last name that is a really stupid choice.

My mom wanted to name me Michael Jordan... this was before she had even heard of the basketball player. I guess they ended up naming me after some ancestor instead, fortunately.

Mum wanted to call me Seth, apparently ended up with Justin though... actually, if I was a girl, I'd have been Vanessa.

hmm well if i was a boy me mum was gonna call me Loyd. Not sure what she was guna call me thou

I was almost named "Karen Elizabeth" but my dad saw the name "Erin" on the back of a girl's soccer jersey at the bank, and decided to name me "Erin Elizabeth" instead.

If I had been a boy, my name would have been Patrick Brian.
