Those careless words coming from people who do not view the internet self as their real self. If you can't adopt a dichotomy between these two selves, you are likely to take to heart that which was never intended to be taken to heart. There is almost two levels of being projected onto the internet: the real self, and the abstract self. It seems a lot of people only utilize the abstract self.

It makes you wonder if the Internet is a symptom of our time, because it provides another cloak to hide the real self behind, another barrier between the consciousness of our beings. It would make these forms of harassment fascinating because they show the decline of the social structure of modern society.

I am not going to say how much I find that ironic.

But in any case, cyberbullying should not really be tolerated, not as overtly as digger1 says, anyway.

MySpace only adds fuel to a fire already burning.

True that. I'm glad I avoid social networking sites.

I chucked my myspace account with a note to the administrators that;

a. I couldn't find a use for it
b. The security was abysmal

You know, I got cyber-bullied on Australian gaming forums. Anyone who lives in Murray Bridge is seen as some kind of freak. :(

That's lousy - which forums were they and why would they pick on you for your location?

PALGN and the Game Traders forums. No one likes Murray Bridge. And the AVCon forums started to pick of me because someone told them that I was Erekiburu at Game Traders' forums.

It makes no sense why someone would hate you just based on where you live. That's absolutely ridiculous.

Before I met you online I'd never even heard of Murray Bridge. I'd be surprised if most NT Australian's knew about it too.
