Why do people like to hate?

I never said they weren't but hating a whole country or ethnic group is beyond stupid.

I personally find the emotion revolting and completely useless unless you want to find a pretext for murder or violence.

^I agree. Everyone is entitled to their own thoughts and opinions.

I really don't like the fact that people here think they have to shove their beliefs down everyone's throat or shun them

In a way it's sort of wired into us by evolution. Imagine you and your family are living in a cave. If you see some people coming who dress funny and talk different, you're on alert right away- they might be there to take your wife and children, or to have you for dinner.
Then later on, when people organized themselves into classes, if you weren't in the highest social group you could always feel better by picking on someone worse off than you were.
Why so much hate now? Damned if I know. When I was younger my generation really believed that by this time there would be, if not an end to war, at least no more racism. But there seems to be more than ever. OK, it's not built into the legal system anymore, but it's always there, running right beneath the ground under our feet, ready to boil up through the surface at any time. A lot of people just can't seem to live without someone to hate.

Alot of people are insecure, and feel better if they think they are "above" someone else, like they have something to prove to another. It justifies their faults.

most aspies are easily confused or upset-or just have no clue what their doing when it comes to insults so pose no real bother

I would have to confess I have a couple of people I hate...not too proud of it though.

I only feel offended or angered, when I am sure it is a personal attack. If I'm not sure, I wait.

Hate is a necessary feeling. Without hate, love would be meaningless.

Richard, how could you say that? I live in California, so I work with Mexicans on a daily basis. Like any other race, some are good, some aren't so good. You can't make a sweeping generalization about an entire segment of the population based on two experiences.

I've lived in so many countries, and I've seen beauty in all shapes, sizes and colors. My neighbor is Mexican, and he has fixed my car for free, just to help me out, countless times. I don't understand most of what he says, but he's so friendly!

And paradoxically, I dislike Mexican food, except for ceviche. I must be the only one on the planet who doesn't like Mexican food. To me, it looks like vomit on a plate, all those refried beans swimming in cheese and that god awful shredded beef or chicken, mystery meat at best. When a friend decides he really wants to go to a Mexican place for dinner, I need a couple of stiff margaritas just to get through the meal.
