LOL me too. I am living some days without heat until I can get my life more stable. It is worse when the no heat days coincide with cold days (like today).

I would like to be able to get presents for my family.
For myself I would like a portable video game system whose company makes the most non-violent games.
More stability in my life.
A better self-improvement plan.
I did not know that I would be in this set of circumstances earlier this year when I shopped for myself, so I do have gifts:
A Parker sterling silver Sonnet fountain pen.
A new journal
Travel Blokus
A ceramic mixing cup with a pour spout

I celebrate solstice so I will be getting my gifts then.

I'm hoping for an Erector set and two first day covers (Feynman and Von Neumann)

Neuroman, buy some space heaters. They're fairly cheap and don't use much eletricity (compared to a heating bill that is). I use them. I don't use the furnace at all.

You can get one for maybe around $15.00. My eletricity bill last month with three space heaters was only around $35.00.

I highly recommend them, though to use them as recommended: with caution. Turning off and unplugging when you leave, etc.

what would not be cheap is the cost of having to replace everything when my house burns down. I was diagnosed first with ADHD for very good reasons. Before treatment I often would get up in the morning to find my dinner from the night before cold in the toaster oven.

They do make heaters with timers for about $40, but I can't afford that yet. Maybe next month.

Ah-ha. Excellent point.

Better idea. :)

The electric co. man once told me there are also such things I think as "water-radiated space heaters" where they save a lot more on electricity. He said he used to live up north for a time and the furnace used something other than the particular gas we tend to use and was thus MUCH more expensive to run. So he and his buddies bought some of the water-radiated heaters.

I'm interested in getting some of those. Don't know how much they would cost. Would likely have to go to some kind of specialty store.

Those might even be less dangerous than the regular ones.

1. I want to get caught up on my medical bills.
2. I want a new pair of hearing aids. My old ones sound like crap.
3. I want to finally get to be the Prince in the Nutcracker ballet.

You do ballet? I love ballet! I danced for thirteen years (quit when I was 16), and my mum is the artistic director of a pre-professional company. I go to college now, but I hope to become a ballet historian. If you want to talk about ballet, feel free to PM me.
