He's gorgeous! Love the color! :)

I find it curious that they prefer really small fishbowls. My friend had one in a 5-gallon tank and it was the saddest fish you ever saw. She put it in a Coke glass (you know, the ones that are that upside-down bell shape) one day while she was cleaning its tank and it perked right up. So she started keeping it in the Coke glass and it was happy. :shrug:

In the wild, bettas live in ponds almost the size of puddles.

Mango is in a 15 gallon tall tank, i was nervous keeping him in such a large tank because it's difficult for a betta that's lazy to swim up to the top to catch a breath of air, considering they have labrynths ontop of their head to store air in :). yay surface breathers! which is why (I think) some of them prefer smaller tanks, it's easier for them to go from laying on the bottom, to the surface.
