Here`s something that might be interesting to
someone living in a country that still have the
death penalty around.

If you want to kill someone, i guess Norways
the place to be. You get a hotelstandard stay
in the jail, and you can not get more then 21
years, thats the limit 8O (might get 21 pluss
something called "safety watch" they watch you
closely for as long as they wont, but anyway)

Usually you are out in around 7-12 years with good
behaviour. A guy killed a cop here some years
back during a bankrobbery, he`s probably out in
around 10-12 years if he behaves 8O In fact, its
not long until he`s realized. Saw another guy in
the papers the other day, he got 7 years for stabbing
a guy to death, dont know where they get the numbers
from. Actually i`ve seen people getting longer jailtime
from smuggling cannabis then killing a man 8O
They`re not big on punishment here it looks like,
when it comes to death and murder. You kill a guy,
get 12 years and are realized after 8, not alot of time.
So being here looking over to USA is a little weird,
i see people are still being put down, so barbaric.
In a way i dont see killing someone as punishment
for what they did, they are dead, they feel nothing.
If you really want to punish someone, keep them alive.

if I'm ever rendered homeless I'll have a ticket to Norway to back me up.

what sort of crime would get me a separate cell with sky tv and internet connection?

Thats standard, tv in every cell and stuff :)
unless you are in isolation. But its quiet an
amazing standard to the jails here compared
to other places. I know of people from parts
of eastern europa that compares jailtime here
to a vacation at a resort, they laugh about it.
Some consider it less risky to travel here and
for example rob a bank because of that, less
risk if they get caught compared to where they
are.

""if I'm ever rendered homeless I'll have a ticket to Norway to back me up""

if so, pm me and i`ll help you settle in without the jail :)

Oh, this might be funny to someone, some days
ago there was something in the papers, the
convicts at a jail complain, very loudly, that they
only have sensored porn on the tv :) They demand
the regular hardcore stuff - and they will probably
get it

Hows the porn rules in jail in the USA btw?
betting no porn! :)

I'd prefer solitary confinement but tv is a must.

I dont see how convicts get to complain, I think there was plenty of porn in guatanamo bay, I know that was a terrible joke, but it sounds very abysmall there. what is it, people can be kept there for years without being charged for anything. I dont know much about what it is like her, I tell you what, later on I will take a walk through crackville, I am sure someone there could tell me.

The whole world is going terribly economicaly at the moment, everything is going crazy with stocks and stuff. I often wonder where does the money go at a time like this, is there groups that profit from these times or something.

Very true, things seem to be crumbling all over the money world,
guess the last big bad crash was in 1988 or something so its due
time

I don't know about groups but Warren Buffet seems to be making deals of his life now.

Well the money has to go somewhere, but I think part of the problem is people spending money they dont have for things they dont need.
