Did you find one or did you read about it, etc...?

We live too far north for scorpions here in PA. 8)

I saw a dead one on my grandmother's porch. I looked it up and it was a Southern Devil Scorpion, which is native to western NC where I live. Its sting isn't fatal (unless you are allergic to insect stings) so there isn't anything to worry about.

As far as I know, the brown recluse spider is the only insect we have to worry about here. Their bite is really nasty, a kind of flesh-killing venom that dissolves body tissue. It's a good thing they're pretty rare.

Anybody have rattlesnake problems?

We have the same type near where I live. I've never seen one in my town but if you drive 30 miles, they are all over the place. They actually have a yearly rattlesnake hunt, but I never went, yet. It's on my list of things to do. :)

That sounds pretty cool, be sure to carry first aid and anti-venom. Those rattlers can kill.

Every once in a while, something strange like that shows up. After living all my life in NC, it wasn't until last summer that I found out we have scorpions here. 8O

cool thing here is that the scorpions glow in the dark so you want accidentally stumble upon one.

^It's pretty safe. They have ambulances and anti-venom on hand. Also, there is a pretty good sized prize for the largest snake caught within 2 days. 8)

Hmm....I just noticed that I haven't created a thread in a long time.

Well, I'll leave the snakes, scorpions, and spiders here with all of you (watch how they play together). Good night. :)

He's Rorschach from the graphic novel The Watchmen which is also being made into a movie, I made a thread about it in the entertainment forum, but I'll add the trailer here too.
