I had a local specialty which we eat all the time here, a savory ricepie-pastry with some breakfast tea, honey and oat milk

ok check it out. i've been stuck on dried foods for a while.
I made rice in the ricecooker and broke up pieces of beef jerky and shitake mushroom "chips". i didn't even have to season it. all that concentrated flavor tenderized the rehydrated meat and made the mushrooms perfect. I also had quinoa in the rice. I drizzled a lil Korean BBQ sauce.

also rice with coconut milk and dried pineapple is refreshingly good

Glad someone else uses shitake mushrooms. I've acquired that foreign flavor. It makes many dishes delicious. I may try your rice, quinoa (another favorite of mine though high in carbs), beef and shitake recipe. Probably minus the Korean sauce.

What I've just eaten: kale

getting pretty tired of this, glad there is only one more portion left for tomorrow.

Next I will get the dull porridge taste away from my mouth with a small sandwich and a coffee
