In reply to one posts above the last.

It's a little mistake (no worries) lots of Americans (OK, some) make. Yeah, we maybe a small country but.... tjah nevermind. As of the dialect, no, to say that isn't really correct. The first Dutch sentence written down is from just before 1000 A.D. but our languages have the same base. Really like the English language also. A Dutchman, with a bit of brain behind the eyes and without the somewhat more difficult technical stuff, in general can understand the German language. But on parts it differ substantially.

""Yeah, Catalan I skimmed a bit (Qué tal?) when a friend and I imported Spanish/Catalan wine but never got that far with it. Neither did the wine-bizz.""

thats so weird, me too :o
some years back i got an idea and started working to
import some Spanish wine, got most of it done but
it got put aside due to my not so great handling skills
when it comes to alot of contact with unknown people :x
frustrating, that happens alot and it really sucks to have
to put something you know will work away just because
you`re alone and stress out a little

I love that, coffee with some milk, always reminds me of my grandparents.

Erminea: read some time ago about "ultra-deutsch", about trying to make german language easier, do you know anything about that? did it succeed?

German and Russian are the hardest languages IMO. Only b/c I have trouble with the pronounciations. They're too alien to me.

Duh.... Now confusing sets in. Who to respond to and....

I made a reply but things moved on. I drop this and gonna eat first 'cos man I'm starved(?) It's a reply to further above posts. But CL, don't know about it but later I'm gonna to look for it.

MissC., I'm Dutch, born in The Netherlands or the somewhat oldfashion name I like to use 'Holland'. Born +/- 20 km. under Amsterdam (+/-12 miles) and tjah what to say. Our borderscountries are tada.... Germany in the East and Belgium in the South. Nowadays I live 10 km from that last named border. (Google city name in my profile and you know where that is, or not) North and West are sandy coastlines that border(?) The Northsea. But where do you live app.? I wonder. Nothing bad intented of course but you owe me a dance. No, sorry....

I know what talking about, ImTheGuyThatDidThat. That's quite often my problem too. But when there a strong wish anything can happen, I believe.

And what else?

Berger, kind of reminds me of the director Ingmar Bergman only spelled with an A. I think he was originally from Sweden.

I want to get back to this 'ultra-deutsch' that computerlove mentioned - there was an attempt made to completely revise German spelling, wasn't there - did it take?
