Maybe you should try sleeping before the Maxalt wears off.
I'm not familiar with Fiorinol so I looked it up real quick & it seems like it's a good idea to try. I might would take a nap but there's an ep of The Simpsons on soon I want to watch & I probably should call my parents abit later & then eat lunch(I go to bed late) but I may take a nap after that.

Over the past week, I have been through the @$&!*%# wars.

I have had to spend, cumulatively, well over a thousand dollars on emergency repairs to this, that, and the other, and I have a re-roofing job coming up in two days that will make that outlay look tiny. Along with the lost money, I've lost day after day that I needed for outside work, again and again during the cool hours - I can't work outside in 90F heat, I pass out.

One vicious nasty "surprise" after another, culminating in yet another lost day today because my laptop suddenly decided to stop recharging its battery last night, JUST after the repair shops closed - then just as suddenly decided to start again this afternoon, after I'd spent the entire day at three different places to get it diagnosed and look for parts.

I. Am. Absolutely. Exhausted. from going through the physical, emotional, and economic wringer - I'm retired, my income is a fraction of what it was before, this is a MAJOR hit. And in two days I'm going to have to spend eight to twelve hours at home with no peace and no rest because the roof over my head is being reshingled. (Yeah, I feel bad for the guys who will be up on my roof, getting baked in this horrible heat. IF the universe will leave me the @$&!*%# h&ll alone long enough, I'm going to buy a bunch of bottled water for them, and put it on ice once they arrive.)

If one MilliHelen is a unit of beauty sufficient to launch a single ship, then one MilliEsme is a unit of absolute fury equivalent to about one thousandth of the anger I am feeling at The Way Things Are Right Now. (This, Too, Shall Pass, I am told. Right: This Too Shall Pass So The Next Catastrophe Has A Nice, Soft Place To Land.)

Thanks Kraftie, but this is a problem amenable only to treatment with the strongest of strong waters.

So I've made a pot of coffee and wrote a drinking song on the 99 bottles of beer thread, and as soon as my garden is sufficiently shaded, I'm going to drink some electrolytes and sally forth to commit mayhem yet again upon the spider mites that keep infesting my Alberta Spruce.

Each day, despite its horrors, is salvaged if I can do just one constructive thing, even if it's as small as putting a fresh roll of toilet paper on the spindle. But this garbage stopped being funny before it even started happening.

My upstairs neighbor just informed me that he can hear every word my partner and I say.

My mom blackmailed me into using my EBT card on strictly her terms and her terms only.

They do indeed. Speaking of hassles and wind, how is your dryer hose behaving now? (Edit in: grrrk, makes me think of sandworms and colonoscopies..... as separate events, thank God, but still.... )

haven't yet had the courage to fire up [unfortunate choice of words] the dryer and see if the hose stays cool enough, I had to worm it behind the dryer in a double-loop to get it to fit back there, I didn't cut it down to the bare minimum like that last one was because chances are If I had another detergent spill and hadda get the thing moved out from the wall in a hurry that i'd forget about the short hose and tear it off again. I had an electric leaf blower ready if it overheats.
