Oh guys, thank you all!! !!
I've been the pallbearer for several wild animals since I moved here - rabbits and mice and voles and small birds - and I saw a duck's nest pillaged by crows before any egg could hatch, this spring. It does not get easier, and I wonder how country dwellers can bear it, honestly.
My front garden, planted by the previous owner of my home, is in real trouble - mites in the spruce despite heavy and frequent treatment with organic things, and the poor rosebushes seem to have the witch's broom virus (also mite borne) - all of this due to the extreme rain this year. My back gardens, planted by me, are thriving, literally bursting with lantana and geranium (white geranium, yellow and white lantanas). So I put the baby to rest there, where there is life and no mortal shadow over the plantings.
I know this is part of nature, but it's still hard. This coming week I am consulting a landscaper who gives Old Poot Discounts, so I can remove the rosebushes, which is really sad. But has to be done.
Hugs to you all.
