What made me unhappy TODAY is that I just wrote a short, clear post about a seriously bad thing that happened to me YESTERDAY and the expletiving expletive CAPTCHA won't allow me to post it, I suppose because I coded in for bold and italic characters.
Damn stupid thing won't let me embed images now either.
Cloudflare, you are staffed by utter maroons.
Edit in: AAAAND it did it AGAIN...
OK, I'll try sneaking it in here. I ended up stranded yesterday, flat tire out of nowhere, busy busy road, very narrow shoulder. Long story short, I have two cellphones and both had low batteries, so of course many people decided they just *had* to call me right while I was waiting for the tow truck guy to call back. What made this such fun was that all but two of these callers became huffy when I explained I couldn't chat, and why; one of the ones who wasn't huffy responded with what the professionals call "depraved indifference" - hell, they all did; not one expressed any concern at all for my wellbeing, or offered any form of help. It was all about them.
To add to the joy, my poor mechanic (who is not, of course, a tire warehouse) couldn't get a tire for me in time to install it today. So what I decided to do is: let him order the tire, have him also order a rim, and he'll set me up a full size spare, while I hopefully can get the existing flat tire patched or replaced today at an actual tire warehouse that just opened nearby (which is why I forgot it existed). Because I live alone, and the above demonstrates pretty clearly what kind of help I can expect in a crisis, which means I can't afford to be stuck driving on a mini-spare if there's another crisis.
OK, let's see if the stifling demons suppress THIS.
And a final edit in: well, good, it posted. Now I'm left figuring out how to resign from this species and join a better one, based on yesterday's findings. People. Bleah.
