Any particular things you have in your home which, you find to be particular unto you i.e family heirlooms etc?

i have an adorably cute litte yellow backscratcher thingie, with a "hand" that has dainty "fingers" with scarlet-painted "nails" on them, that has a sound-producing cylinder shaft that goes "MEOooooooWWW" when you tilt it up or down. i rescued this from a bin of curiosities at a seattle goodwill store several years ago, grimy and forlorn, just waiting to be rescued by me. so now it is clean and shiny-yellow and resting comfortably on a cushy pillow in my living room.

Interesting. To my ears, Mandarin Chinese is perhaps the most unpleasant-sounding.
