I kill threads here, sometimes.

But I have a history. Apparently I'm a text-based RPG forum killer. The last one I joined had been going strong for hundreds of members for years, and I was begged by former RP fellows to join. I declined as anytime I joined one it died. I was assured I couldn't possibly kill something that big.

I created a character, started posting . . . and within a week, everyone vanished. And I received mass emails from the mods begging people not to let the site die.

Sorry, all.

People generally don't play role-play games so much that I've seen. There have been a few attempted RPGs in Off The Wall, but they died like and RPG hit them. I used to play a verbal RPG called "Gamma World" with my family, but my stepfather used it to psychoanalyze me and my sister, so that sucked. Sometimes I play Runescape, where I am melee combat level 41 and my username is numerarius. Haven't even done that in a while though, just so much other things to do in preparation for my fiancee and I to marry in May. In general though, people have lost interest in games without super graphics, just like movie producers have lost interest in making movies with plots.

Thanks for resurrecting this thread.

I almost forgot about it as it's taken me 2 years to kill it.

How does one person 'kill' a thread?

I thought threads died a natural death through apathy or disinterest; just slipping slowly down page one, disolving on page 2 and then cut loose in outer space to drift off to who knows where.

The very act of posting something intended to 'kill' would surely............keep it alive :?

I have probably misunderstood (a hobby of mine) thread killing..............

I've killed three threads in a row, in the Random Discussion forum, already.

I've also killed the "Post a Caption for The Avatar Above" thread, over a month ago.

^ Agreed. That pic strikes me as disturbing, for some reason.

LOL
