Beautiful. I noticed you are in Missouri. I have an aunt and uncle that live in Columbia. Have you managed to avoid the nasty weather and tornadoes so far?

Thank you. So far as long as I've lived here since birth I have. Luck I guess but I do worry now that I living in a trailer with no basements. I was very shocked when Joplin was hit. I use to go there and visit my relatives. After that, the whole place looked almost like a bomb dropped on it. Never saw a tornado as destructive as that. Luckily they were ok but lost a lot that to them was valuable.

Is this a specific breed of cat?
Those flattened ears make it look incredibly cute.

She's a Scottish Fold

The folded ear cartilage is the result of a naturally occured mutation. They are not really a breed, because Scottish Fold are always bred with normal-eared cats. Breeding two Scottish Folds can lead to skeletal abnormalities in the offspring. They are typically paired with British, European or American Shorthair cats, and about half of the litter will have folded ears. The rest are usually sold as Scottish Straight.

There are also long-haired variants called Highland Fold, as well as Scottish Fold munchkins, which are ridiculously cute when they're little. But Munchkin cats look rather weird when they grow up, like a cross between cat and dachshund. I'm happy with my normal sized floppy-eared kitty
