Oh god, my friend and I were at my nana's house today and my granddad's friend was also there. And when my friend was about to go home my granddad's friend said "is that your girlfriend" WUT?????

Some people of that generation refer to girls who are friends as girlfriends but they dont mean romantically. My grandmother once took it a step further and asked if I was going out with my boyfriends. I had the same reaction.
