Ichabod: "You seem to have a little witch in you."
Katrina: "Why do you say that?"
Ichabod: "Because you have bewitched me."

(Appears) Good morning, WrongPlanet! This is your Friendly Resident Ghost saying: "So this is Valentine's Day. If you have that special someone to share it with, then I wish a happy day for you. If you don't, like me, then remember there are other things in the world to think about."

Me too. I have been visiting Ukraine lately, Pripyat and Chernobyl. I went right to the ferris wheel in Pripyat.
Our paths may have crossed!
I've had a look around there too - really interesting to be able to visit it through Google Earth and I'd like to go there for real.

Google Earth/Maps indeed is fun.

Taupey: Awesome! I've wanted to visit Chernobyl and Pripyat for several years. 8)

Ooh, yes, the maps as well. I love maps. And I, too, have long wanted to go to Pripyat. But I'd imagine you have to do it as part of a tour (:?:) and that doesn't sound very appealing.

More Van Halen less Flock of Seagulls I hope.

I have to disagree with this sentiment completely. 80s synth pop may be bad, but at least it can be fun while it's at it.

But certainly possible. Google reveals many interesting things with "Chernobyl tours", plus pictures.
Even a private tour can be arranged here.

Wow, $490 to go as one person! I'll keep it in mind, though, should I ever find myself doing any accompanied traveling through Ukraine.

Is that the same as candy floss the fluffy confectionery made out of sugar usually seen
in fun fairs.

Yes! There's some icky lovey-dovey ice skating thing going on near my flat tonight for Valentines Day (which we shall not be attending >.<) but they have a stall with all the fairground snack things on it. :D

Yep, every guide has to carry a Geiger counter with them, to make sure you don't get too much radiation, there's still a lot in the ground there. :P
