I think that hyperverbalic autism is at greater risk of being misdiagnosed as NVLD than high-verbal autism. Hyperverbalic autism typically has very fast speech development, dominance of verbal thinking and poor visual thinking, dysharmonic intellectual development favoring verbal skills and verbal intelligence, relatively mild sensory issues while high-verbal autism "simply" has good verbal skills and may be associated with excellent visual thinking or even speech delay but despite it may have good language skills, be good in writing stories and reading, be good in learning languages. A person with hyperverbalic autism may have Verbal Comprehension Index 125 and Perceptual Organization Index 100 in WAIS-R test and a person with high-verbal autism may have Verbal Comprehension Index 130 and Perceptual Organization Index 135 in WAIS-R test.
