Oooooh! Fibre arts in their endless variety! The things you can create, even from humble clothes-dryer lint.... Google "papermaking", just as one example, and prepare to be amazed.
It seems likely that an Angora Persian cat would produce hair of a particularly fine staple (quality and length) which would lend itself well to this sort of endeavour.
We have a family sheep that gets shorn around Christmastime every year (when the weather gets hotter). We don't usually keep the fleece any more, but once washed, it makes an excellent filling for soft toys, among other things.
Our own cat sheds fur in extravagant quantities, but she's a Domestic Shorthair, so the hair she produces wouldn't be as versatile.
Yeah, she said something about weaving into a cotton like material eventually decorating onto a hat.
He does have an incredibably soft and lengthy coat. I just never heard of a cat's shorn coat being used into anything.
