I was born in 1959. The earliest memories I can confidently date are from the summer of 1963, before my birthday. This is based on the birth of my little sister being born September 11, 1963. I remember things before she was born.
She was born with multiple birth defects. She lived in a special home her whole life, and died in 1977 from complications after a surgery. She is likely why I watch the Special Books by Special Kids videos.
Another random truth is I use to sing the song Tammy to her when she came home for visits on Christmas. Her name was Tammy. I remember singing it long before she was born. It was a popular song, I liked it. I doubt I knew all the words.
Because this is something of downer of a subject, here is a period appropriate song I also enjoyed as a child.
