I've seen the Harry Potter movies, but that was quite some time ago. In general, I don't watch movies involving magic.

what do you think the dream was telling you?

Not to go to that neighboring town. For what it's worth, I've only been there twice in the last 20 years even though it is only 45 miles away.

By the way, here's a series of words related to dreams:

1) oneiric -- of, like or pertaining to dreams
2) oneirocriticism -- dream interpretation
3) oneirodynia -- nightmare
4) oneirology -- study of dreams
5) oneiromancy -- divination by dreams

I have no idea how to pronounce these words.

I really like this one! Are you sure you wouldn't want to write it into a novel? I'm serious. NaMoNov approacheth. Wanna co-author?

The thing in your dream that really struck me, as far as I can guess at it, is the similarity of the wild hare and the helicopter. They both have ... whirligigs on top of their heads. Rabbit ears and rotors? Something interesting lurks there. The hare is wild and the helicopter is a machine. You float above the rabbit ears but control the helicopter - neither of which you are qualified to do. Round trip over water and bog to parents' house 25 years ago. That kitchen scene is vivid in the manner of 50s TV family shows. Not to worry - DNA 25 years ago.

I apologize for the yankee slang ["wild hare" meaning a wanderlust/gumption to do something irregular/unhinged], IOW I was being figurative with that slang. no actual wild hare was I chasing. and if you want to turn that into a novel, you are welcome to it as I totally lack the expertise, but would accept your help should you decide to help. :flower:

I understand Maudite = cursed, but does "colin [caline?] de bin[e] mean "drat those beans?"

I had a dream this morning that I was driving down a road and ran across an enormous old mansion that was five or six stories tall and that was obviously not being lived in and not being kept up. I stopped and went in and didn't see any sign of it being lived in although there were signs that people had been there.

I worked my way up to the top floor and was blown away with it. It was an old ballroom that was about taking up the entire floor with high ceilings. a beautiful chandalier hanging from the ceiling, and filled with very large windows all the way around.

I thought that would be a wonderful place for a completely open office. Later, as I went back down, I saw some movement to the side and it was an area that was immacuately clean with a large family living in it. They thought I was a robber and starting running around in a panic while holding their hands in the air. I convinced them that I wasn't and everyone calmed down.

Talking to the parents, I found out that the place was for sale for a million dollars. They wanted to buy it, but could only handle about six hundred thousand. In the meantime, they had permission to live in it free of charge. I dreamed that I could handle about the same and so we agreed that we would each contribute half a million to the purchase of the mansion, use the rest on repairs and upkeep, and we would each have two floors with me getting the top two floors.

For what it's worth, some of my best dreams are of old, abandoned houses and other buildings.

^^^^House
To see a house in your dream represents your own soul and self. Specific rooms in the house indicate a specific aspect of your psyche. In general, the attic/top floors represents your intellect/higher consciousness, the basement represents the subconscious, etc. The Dreamer values his/her intellect above much else in life. If the house is empty, then it indicates feelings of insecurity. Dreaming that you are in the house of someone who has passed away or moved away indicates that you have yet to come to terms with their passing. Perhaps you feel there was something that could've been done. The dream also indicates that you are trying to hold onto the memories you had with her or him or them. To see an abandoned house in your dream implies that you have left behind your past. You are ready to move forward toward the future. To see an old, run-down house in your dream represents your old beliefs, attitudes and how you used to think or feel. A situation in your current life may be bringing about those same old attitudes and feelings. Alternatively, the old house may symbolize your need to update you mode of thinking.
Mansion
To see a mansion in your dream symbolizes your greatest potential and growth. You may feel that your current situation or relationship is in a rut.
Ballroom
To dream that you are in a ballroom refers to some festivity or celebration. You are having a good time and enjoying life. Alternatively, the dream implies openness. There are some aspect of your life that you need to be more open about.
Money
To see or win money in your dream indicates that success and prosperity is within your reach. Money represents confidence, self-worth, success, or values. You have much belief in yourself. Alternatively, dreaming about money refers to your attitudes about love and matters of the heart. It is a common symbol for sexuality and power. In particular, finding money indicates your quest for love or for power. To give or spend money in your dream is analogous to giving love. You are looking for love.
Million Dollars
To see or dream that you are working with a million buck$ points to your desires. The dream may be an inspiration for you to work harder. Alternatively, the dream refers to your inadequacies and shortcomings. There may be a void in your life.
Chandelier
To see a chandelier in your dream represents grandeur and greatness. You see a bright future ahead. If the chandelier is made of crystal, then it symbolize wealth.
Intruders or Squatters
To see an intruder or squatter in your dream house represents feelings of guilt. Consider also what unfamiliar feelings or thoughts may be breaking into one's peace of mind.

I dreamed I was taking an exam, even though my school days are long over.

I also dreamed that I was at work and someone asked me to get some sort of medical supplies, which is weird because I don't work in a medical-related job.

I just tossed and turned and had strange dreams about me and my mom [as she was back in the 2000s] watching the kitchen TV set in her old house, we saw the strangest program that featured graphic and vulgar explanations of constipation and diarrhea, as well as scatological and obscene re-enactments of the songs “my boomerang won’t come back” and “the Simpsons sing the blues.”

It's not unusual for me to have dreams about taking classes. Often, in the dreams, it is the end of the semester and I've forgotten some of the classes I'm taking and where they meet. I'll be dreaming that I need to take the final but I don't have the slightest idea where to go.
