I was watching [don't ask why 
] .... 'Britain's Got Talent' earlier with the subtitles on. And when the woman judge who looks like a crayon said to some guy "You sounded nasally", the subtitles came up with "You sounded ABC Breakfast News ally".
Made me laugh like a goon.

Depends on which part of the Southern US. The bible belt/deep south is indeed dominated by baptists, and produces a massive amount of Neo-Confederates and Dixiecrats who call themselves conservatives (no offence to any Rebs on here. I understand what you're getting at, but I still think you're wrong). Texas, on the other hand, has a tolerable clash of differences: the east and western parts of the state are largely Evangelic conservative but not extreme (my zone), and the central and southern parts of the state have mostly liberal Catholics and moderate conservatives. And the south west (New Mexico & Arizona) is very conservative in the countryside, but very liberal (and atheist) in the cities.

It's highly debatable.
And the young autistic boy who dances on there got me and my brother arguing about why people need a back story on there all the time. He reckons they need a back story so we can all know how much effort it takes for them to achieve their talent etc. Whereas I see it as a talent show in which people should be judged solely on their talent. So why mention any sort of personal back story when it isn't necessary whatsoever in the show and will only end up making the results biased?
And the dog act was crap.

Indeed, the sob stories. They win the audience, of course, make them more likely to tune in next time or vote for them should they make it to the live shows.
Edit: They do vote for who they want to win, right?

I'm not so sure since I wouldn't particularly vote for any of them to win, Britain's Got Talent is full of shite this year from what little I've seen of it.
Talent shows became old and boring after pop idol, they should have just ended it there.
