You're very good to take the time to talk to and help people.
I try... I can relate to peoples pain and dont want them to feel that way but also tell them the truth in a way that doesnt come across as combative... Just give points of view that others may not give. and always tell them it is only my point of view and i could be wrong in certain areas but if you can get anything positive from what i have said then all the better..
I did have someone yesterday mention he thought i came across as stuck up and arrogant. I just explained that maybe how my external expression comes across but inwardly i am actually the opposite. After explaining a little about the spectrum he seemed to understand a little better. However i did spend all night last night thinking about what he said... I only have points of view and if anyone gets any benefit from that then great, if not no worries. I dont think i am stuck up or arrogant. I can just be a little deep in my conversations which differs from most conversations and may be perceived as arrogant when the reality is very much the opposite.
Yes, it's interesting how we are often perceived as different to how we mean to be.
I've just faced this very same issue - said things that were then twisted to mean something else.
It made me lose all confidence in my ability to be understood.
Made me wonder if I should speak at all if it could be taken so contrary to what I intended.
It got me very down.
I understand completely.
