Boiled the billy for afternoon tea, then rearranged the woodpile so the driest wood is next to the stove, resorted the kindling box and put it under cover.
Rain coming in tomorrow.

^ Around 16, not bad, but feels colder.
Had a pea-soup fog this morning, supposed to be colder weather coming in after the rain.
All my kindling is native wood and the rough bark tends to hold water, so I wanted to make sure I have something to burn if it does come in cold.

Well, last night was 11c inside the house... We dont really get snow where we are but our mountain sometimes gets a snow peek for a few hours that looks nice every few years. I once took a date down to the beach at midnight, made a fire and cooked a dinner only to realise i chose the night that was the coldest ever recorded! ( go figure! Was 2c, -8c wind chill... Seemed a good idea at the time)
It doesn't sound bad but when you take into account many of our houses are not sufficiently insulated like in Europe, one is effectively sleeping in an expensive tent!
Actually had a flatmate give notice yesterday as he felt it was too cold for him and winter has not yet set in, so can be a bit of a pain but i am somewhat used to it.

We also stopped at a crystal shop later on, and I got an angel aura crystal, a crystal partially cut open to show the sparklies, and a polished rose quartz fashioned so I can wear it as a necklace.

I recently acquired a piece of brilliant aqua-colored titanium quartz for my birthday (which isn't until next month, but my husband who gave it to me might not live that long). He's got all of the bases covered. They started with a mild chemo regimen last night. No side effects so far. If this works, he can avoid the more toxic stuff. We should know in a couple of weeks.

going up to 90F here today. we used to get one or two of those days in august. now it's all the time and in MAY. but global warming isn't happening, right?
