I had a dream this morning that was somewhat unnerving. I dreamed that I was running for office and that I started looking around and saw that everyone else was covered in large multicolored nodules (an inch or two across and one or two inches out) that were oozing some kind of stinking liquid.

That woke me up and I forced myself to stay awake for about half an hour in hopes that the dream would not continue after going back to sleep.

Last night one of my dreams featured zombies. These ones couldn't come out in daylight for some reason, it had some sort of ill effect on them, I don't remember what. I woke up afraid that there were zombies in my room, and it took me maybe five to ten minutes to realize that no, there weren't, and nothing was going to go after me if I moved or made any noise. That's the first time that I can ever recall being that scared upon waking from a dream. What's really odd is that in waking life, I love horror, especially if it features supernatural entities of some kind, but I'm actually kind of bored by zombie stuff unless it has some sort of interesting, unique twist to it. I think what really got me this time is the slowness. I'm not afraid of dying, but I really didn't want to be slowly torn to pieces waiting for the zombies to find something vital so I could die already, or to slowly become a zombie myself. I didn't realize it until then, but apparently I would really rather my death be quick.

You were running for office? And everyone in the crowds around you was...growing oversized zits that spouted stinking liquid????

Maybe you were a demagogue candidate. And it was symbolic of you "bringing out the worst in folks".

I dreamed I was having trouble with my car. I was at a neighbor's house and couldn't get it started. That was a scary dream. Fortunately, I woke up.

I dreamt I was futzing frustratedly with an old malfunctioning but high-tech radio. I was cussing at it and giving it "kinetic recalibration" repeatedly, to no avail, it resolutely refused to tune to the station I wanted it to, and I was missing an important program, and I was just about to throw it out the window when I awoke. :wall:

I dreamed that someone had painted the kitchen a dark black. Also, even though it was the middle of the day, it was almost dark outside. So I couldn't see much of anything in the kitchen and when I dropped my reading glasses, I had to feel around on the floor to find them.

I had a dream that I was falsely accused of a crime and awaiting trail in jail. I was getting constantly over simulated, and couldn't talk and kept getting in trouble with the guards because I was confused.
The day before the actual trail I had convinced them to let me stay home for a day before I came to the trail, so when I went to sleep and then actually woke up I had a moment of panic and trying to think of a way out.
I hate waking up overstimulated.

Got up late this afternoon after a strange dream where I was in a fenced-in yard somewhere, confronting a strange skinny gray leafless tree whose branches were whipping me, and it could read my mind and communicate telepathically with me putting a harsh stage whisper in my mind. It had weird eyes on the ends of stalks just like some kinda insect, they stared beadily at me, and it had thin filaments that could dangle like corn silk or move with a malevolent purpose in lashing me. I thought about getting the chainsaw and no sooner than I thought of it that the nasty whisper said “THAT WILL BE THE LAST THING YOU THINK MUCH LESS DO!!” then I awoke. ??

You seem to awake at the pinnacle of your dreams.

yes, I suppose that if I didn't then the dreams would have evaporated long before I awoke. that proximity to wakefulness is the only thing that lets me remember them in any detail. doubtless most of them slip my attention.

Dreamed I was preparing to go out for the evening, which I will be doing tonight

I dreamed I volunteered to run in a race. I am not a runner, but I do run a lot on the tennis court.

I dreamed this morning that I had gotten home from work and when I started taking my shoes off, I found that I had lost the shoestring on my right shoe. The left shoe was tied normally.

Has anyone ever lost a shoestring? Would it be possible to lose it without noticing?

I'm getting ready to go outside and put my shoes on. The dream was so real that I was wondering what I was going to do for a shoe string.
