Ah yes - I've heard that said about Washington.

It's not true. It's not raining now and it hasn't rained much if at all in the past week.

That's a general-purpose comment from your browser because it's having problems connecting to a site, although the problems may not necessarily be caused directly by the site. Other stuff between you and WP could be having problems.
I've never had a problem actually connecting to WP - even if it is displaying the "back in a few minutes" message.

There was a really long "busy" session a couple of days ago and I thought it had actually broken. But that means I would need to get a life! 8O

I think those messages are really just a hint that we need to take a break and live our real lives. :P

@thewrll: Same as the UK, really, which has an undeserved reputation of being permanently grey and raining.

Yep, probably.
I did go out a couple of weeks ago though, and for almost the whole day...

I'm on here too much also, but I do go out fairly often :)

When I'm not jet-setting down south (:P) I usually just sit there all day doing sod all, tip tapping away on the laptop.

I'm almost done with "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?". Biggest mind screw I've ever read. Hoping that "Ubik" and "Flow My Tears, The Policeman Said" will be even screwier.

I've had DADOES for a little while now, I'm waiting until the right time to read it, I'm desperately wanting to though. Seems like a great book. So don't give any spoilers!

That's just what I do.
Faffing about with nothing in particular, although I was busy for a while working on the photographs which were the end result of the day out.

I've started on that and for no good reason whatever, it's taken weeks to get as far as chapter three.
But it's an interesting start and already clear there was masses of detail skipped for the film.

It's always like that with films. But the thing is, they are two very different artforms, so what works great for one doesn't necessarily mean it will work for the other. The film would probably seem quite boring if all the detail was left in. The reason why it might not work is just simply because books are much more open to interpretation.

Oh, absolutely. A film based on a book is, at best, only a representation of the maker's understanding of the book and can't (and shouldn't) include everything.
The films which work best are those capturing the essential core or feeling of a book and it's already clear that was done very well with Blade Runner.

That's good to know! I'm getting so excited about reading that damn book now! I can't wait much longer!
