Yes indeed - it's quite dark already and it's barely got going.

DADOES is very different from BR. It's more post-apocalyptic than Cyberpunk. And it's screwier than BR. Like take the question of whether Deckard is a replicant or not and multiply it by 10. You start losing track of what is and isn't real yourself. Many of the characters are noticable templates for the movie characters. Some of them, like Rachael and Deckard, are almost the same as the movie characters.

Seeing that you guys are BR nuts, have you watched the tv show Total Recall 2070? It's not based on the movie, but more rather the short story that inspired Total Recall, "We Can Remember It For You Wholesale", which is also by PKD. Also, it is based on DADoES and "Flow My Tears, The Policeman Said". It was canceled after a season of 22 episodes and every single episode is available on Hulu.

^^ Yaye good evening everyone,

I do hope that you are all very happy. I am very sorry for posting upon lovely WrongPlanet a very small amount as of late.

^^ I believe that I have enjoyed very much providing the lovely plants within my garden with water during this evening. I believe that Nell and Plato were very lovely and wished to be with me during this task also. However I feel very evil as blessed poor Plato with some waters during one time.

I haven't seen that before, but I may have to look it up at some point. Thanks.

If the book goes well (which I'm sure it will) then I might have to look more into Philip K. Dick's work. All I know of by him is DADOES and of course, Blade Runner. (Sort of by him....)

He wrote soft psychological and philosophical sci-fi. A great any sci-fi movies are based on his work. Also, the next animated Disney movie that's coming out is based on one of his stories. I'm going to the premiere in a trench coat and suit with a LAPD Blade Runner badge. Hopefully I don't get kicked out of the theater. My beard makes me look like a pedo, and with the added effect of the trench coat, people will be suspicious unless it's winter . I get booted from hanging out in the teen section of my local library because of my beard, in fact.

Some PKD movies include Minority Report, A Scanner Darkly, Total Recall, Confessions of A Crap Artist, and some others I can't think of off the top of my head.

So lately in my imaginary world, I have been thinking about a Doctor Who/Red Dwarf crossover where the 10th Doctor and all three of his companions - Rose, Martha and Donna - somehow wind up buddying up with the crew of the Red Dwarf. The pairings would be Doctor/Rose, Lister/Martha and Rimmer/Donna. I haven't worked out how exactly all of that is supposed to make sense from a canon standpoint, but I really really like the idea.

In my imaginary world, I've been creating meetings between various characters from various movies and franchises such as eating contest between Garfield the Cat and Homer Simpson or Daffy Duck and Donald Duck having an argument over who was the better duck and more! 8)
