^ sounds like a good deal.
I would have to drive about 12 hours to see snow here, even in the middle of winter.

Raleigh, you must live in the southern hemisphere, because over here in Idaho - where we share a border with Canada -it's hotter than a demon's buttcrack outside.

I live in Australia, where we get barbecued for eleven months of the year.
The arrival of 'winter' is something to celebrate.

Hot weather 11 months out of the year actually sounds pleasant, especially considering the fact that we had an unusually harsh winter last year. I'd move to Australia, but here in the US, Australia has a reputation for being "the place where every single animal is trying to kill you 24/7", so I'd rather stay in Idaho, where only a very teeny fraction of animals are dangerous.

^ Believe me, it's not pleasant!
But you get used to it.

Far more people get killed by guns in America than people get killed by dangerous animals in Oz.

That's very true. Even my dad says that America is one of the more dangerous countries to live in because of the gun violence. It seems like the shootings happen at an increasingly frequent rate too. :(

IdahoRose: Or you could move here to Canada. I dislike the winters, but the summers are lovely.

Moving to Canada is practically every American's dream, especially now that Trump's in office. :P What's not to love about Canada? The only stereotypes we have about Canadians are that you guys are really polite and apologize too much.

I've been watching Border Patrol Canada.
It's incredible what some people try to smuggle in.
One person had fresh fish in their suitcase.
And birds nests.
And grubs.
WTH??

Um...that stereotype is actually true for me. I've even apologized for apologizing too much. I do not like donuts, Timbits, hockey, backbacon, or drive-throughs. I do love maple syrup, though, since it's one of the three sweeteners [along with rice syrup and honey] that I can actually eat.

Raleigh: I've watched that at my Nana and Grandpa's house!

Kura, if it makes you feel any better, I embody several negative stereotypes about Americans:

- I'm fat
- I shop at Walmart
- I eat hamburgers on a regular basis
- My brother used to own guns
- I think bald eagles are majestic
- I'm fascinated by countries with better culture (like Japan and England)

And I'm sure there's more that I forgot.

I think bald eagles are majestic, too.

Don't be so quick to judge yourself.
It's not that Japan and England have 'better' cultures; every culture in the world has room for improvement, despite any and all positive aspects.

Have you ever seen someone else's photo collection and realised they have photos of you in it?

Creepy.
