If you don't like her that much then it doesn't sound like she's worth the effort of creating a division at work over. Having said that, if you are contemplating this it must mean that you're not friends with the people who don't like her? Sounds like you have no friends at your workplace and or are everybody's acquaintance from what you've written. Is going out with someone who could potentially be a real friend worth risking the way your co-workers perceive you? Can you deal with the criticism of the people you are currently neutral with if it came to that? Why don't people like this person? Is there a specific reason? Do you like going out? I assume you mean going out to drink. If you wanted to lie, perhaps you could do it via text message. Would you expect this person to call you after your text message if that were to be the case? Would you care?

Billy no mates. You could have at least indulged me with some answers! It probably won't affect your decision as I'm just some random person to you, but I vote for going out with the person, if only in an attempt to be more sociable. Not that I'm saying you should be or anything.

I have to wait until Monday to get the keys and probably the soonest we can get our furniture moved is Friday next week. It seems so long but at least that will give me time to go through stuff again and pack up whatever is still unpacked.

On the plus side my new landlord is a business owner and when my mother mentioned me needing to find a job he mentioned possibly giving me the occasional odd job. Maybe someday he'd eventually hire me as a cleaner or dishwasher or something like that for his restaurant/bar. It would be very close to my apartment so as long as I didn't have to wait on customers I think I could do it.
