Good morning, everyone. Boo's disappeared, naturally, most likely in the part of the basement where she's not supposed to go. It's only been one day but I miss her already! How is that possible?

cats often hide for the first few weeks in a new place. when we moved here, for example, schmupp hid under the covers for most of the first two months. and a friend adopted my sister's cat. he hid behind the dryer for a while. she'll likely be fine in a short time.

CRAAAAP, I HAVE AN EMERGENCY!
So the toilet got stopped up, and now there is BROWN, FILTHY WATER FLOODING MY BATHROOM!
My parents are gone now, finds out about this he will be pissed out of his mind! 
Obviously I can't soak up the water with bath towels, because that would ruin the towels, so I've been using paper towels to clean this up. I've been picking up the... gross bits.... and running over and flushing it in my parents' toilet. Is there anything else I could do?

You could use a wet/dry shop vac if your parents have one. Vacuum up all the poop water and dump it somewhere.

You can use a wash cloth and soak it in the flooded water, and then wring it over a bucket. I mean like twist it, to squise the water out of it. Then repeat again and again, until it's all gone.
