^^ Diagnosis!! Yay!! ! Congratulations.
Yup thanks, with apparent ADD and PTSD.. Seemed i got a tri factor.
Asperger's is a blessing and a curse. Co-morbids of social anxiety and depression suck but hyperfocus, Special Interests etc. sure make up for the deficits!

Yup, always understood the ''blessing and the curse'' even before it was pointed out. Too many occurrences as examples. But running the jetski unit for coastguard was actually a good example in how i could see things in ways no one else could and was often pointed out. Yes intense focus can be good as long as one remembers to eat if one can summon the strength to pull away from said focus. I like everything about it. Its people that are my curse.

I'm 50 years old now and life hasn't been easy, but at least I know now why it hasn't been.
I've spent most of my life believing that I came from another planet. In some ways, I still do.
I'm so different. Surely, I don't belong here!
Why can't I connect with those I'm supposed to belong to?
The answer is... I don't belong to them!
They're so superficial and back stabbing!
I wouldn't even want to belong with them even if I did!
Which I don't!!

Ramble away, I say.
I'm glad that the green you chose for the walls looks better today
Thank you!
Actually I'm not good at seeing the whole picture when it comes to choosing color. Maybe it's related to autism. I don't know. That's why I have big problems choosing frames for paintings. I can't picture it in my head. Also if I like a color, it doesn't mean it will look good on the wall. The walls is the biggest single surface in a room. Choosing the color that would work best in the room as a whole, is what I should have focused on.
I don't know if you read the article I posted. I posted it with you in mind..

Hyperfocus can be a curse as well as a blessing.
I was once wrote a computer program in C++ which went over several monthes and 13 modules to compile. Back in the days of the 486's, I could make a cup of coffee and Borland C++ still couldn't compile my program in that time - it was so massive - so many lines of code.
I used to sit and program this computer up until 3am most mornings. Hyperfocus. My ex-partner used to come home from work and get into the shower and I wouldn't have even noticed she was home from work.
The unit could have burned down around me and I wouldn't have noticed.
It was like Zen. I was zeroed in to this space and nothing else existed!

yup. I used to also do events management. I was know for been highly proficient. i would go on none stop for 3 days straight without sleep and not even time for a coffee break.. Not what i wanted but could only use what tools were provided. Especially with one event in particular. The local cop thought i was taking something but assured him i wasnt, i just said i was focused.. However the end result left me unable to walk for over a month. Took a year for my feet to heal properly. Lost my voice for 6 weeks, bed ridden for 4 weeks and cut myself of from any social interaction for over 2 months... If they had done what i had suggested then that wouldn't have happened. Hence the following year i didnt help as they still didnt incorporate what i suggested and could see the same scenario happening again... However i did get a shout out by Bob Marleys son ( Ziggy) as he noticed and so seemed the crowd as i was given a huge ovation only to be called over the earpiece for an apparent medical emergency only to find out St johns ambulance crew were farking with me! lol
However as soon as i am taken away from that work focus to ''be myself'' i cant seem to function and go into anxiety meltdown.

That sounds... exactly like my mom.
Now that I think about it, that would explain a lot.

^I'm here, orbiting the planet of wisdom and bunnies. I fed Boo today, and she slept on my bed without getting restless. ![]()

Yup, oi disliked him for many years but once i started reading about the spectrum light bulbs started to flash and started to see my father in a different light. I have a better understanding of him now and he has got better as i call him out when he starts getting controlling or explain what he says is upsetting. I just dont think he always realized. However there have been times that were just down right mean... Unfortunately this has resulted in sever and permanent negative consequences on my sister.
