Yup, again shows little knowledge about the spectrum... Sorry to hear you have also had a hard time being misunderstood!
As my ASD specialist said. Being aspergian isnt actually a trait to feeling anxiety etc however it is brought on and amplified by ones negative experiences that one experiences for being a little different and becomes somewhat hardwired....

@Biggles: I know... my anxiety because EXTREMELY hardwired... it took forever to remove, and I still get it sometimes, even after meds, CBT, talking to friends about my traumas/dramas, non-CBT psychotherapy, support groups, and forums like this one.

@cberg: How do you get your medical records expunged? Do you know?

That's crap. I KNOW that depression & anxiety are co-morbids that go along wit having Asperger's Syndrome. THAT'S A FACT!

I live it EVERY DAY!

It can be comorbids or just unrelated/related to something else.

Mine are comorbids, because 1) they're due to the stigma of being autistic, and 2) just the things I think about, being autistic, cause depression and anxiety.

I was first diagnosed in 2007 but I was only sent to see they psychiatrist for depression and apparent suicidal tendencies.

In 2013, an independent psych picked it up in me too.

Became rather hard to deny.

It sucks. But I Love my ability to hyperfocus and program in ALL languages like a son of a b***h!

Also, I'm wicked smart!

Why do you ask, two dogs?

Diagnosed in '98 or something & maybe five or ten living souls know anything about me.

I'm quite reconciled with that.

Ermmm, yeah, as you mentioned ''co-morbids!'' I do know some aspies that dont have anxiety or depression issues. As i have stated it often comes hand in hand due to misunderstandings and being treated differently. Its not like we are born depressed. It is a reaction to how we are often treated. Hence why i see her point somewhat even though i questioned that myself.

Even in those who are born depressed, it comes from somewhere... even if it's environment at the molecular level.

Yeah, eventually. But the pain you'll experience before the transition will be EXCRUCIATING!

So how will the pain of impending death be any different from the pain of living life, except for being of much shorter duration?

True! I guess sometimes though a death is painless, and the person believes in an afterlife (like I do and maybe he does).
