I have a friend who's in my world music lecture class. He's from Jamaica. He said to me that he hopes that the professor doesn't do a unit on Jamaican or Carribbean music, because Jamaica has a type of music called dancehall, that he... dislikes. He told me about this dancehall "musician" called Kartel who's now doing life in prison. I decided to check out Kartel, and while his music is indeed really obnoxious and stupid (pretty much every Kartel song that I've checked out is about p*ssy), I can't stop listening to it for some reason! I hate myself for it! It's addictive, and so bad it's good. You ever get that feeling? You hate something, but derive entertainment value from the fact that it's sh***y? Yeah...
