i would want it to have empathy for all other sentient beings.

No. I've been kinda busy this weekend. Plus I can't even sit through a political debate here, let alone in the US.

I usually watch funny videos or watch one of my favorite episodes of a TV show, depending on whether I need to laugh or just feel comforted. My cat can usually tell when I'm feeling down, so he'll often try to comfort me, too.
