Wow!! ! I love those guitars!! ! :D

I generally like steam punk or any retro-futuristic aesthetic.

I love the art deco look of Fall Out and Sky Captain as well.

Would this be considered steam punk, or not quite?

I like those books. There's another book which has an air fleet crossing the Atlantic to attack the States, quite similar in style to them, but I can't remember the name.

Was it : "The Miocene Arrow", by Sean McMullen, the second book in the post-apocalyptic Greatwinter Trilogy?

Awesome steampunk story! I read (devoured) all 3 books! :D

I'm actually more of a fan of the Diesel Punk Aesthetic rather than Steam Punk. Probably the some of the best places to see this would be iPArts of Stargate Atlantis, The movies Brazil, and The Breed.

It's certainly Victorian-influenced, but I wouldn't go as far as to call it steampunk. It's steampunk if you apply the principles of modern technology to Victorian-era contraptions.

Stumbled onto a little underground animation that looks quite interesting.

Here's the motherlode...all your steampunk questions answered...;)
Brass Goggles

I like it; I read Girl Genius online, loved the Difference Engine, etc., but it's only one of a number of interests. I'm not gonna go all cosplay about it, tho...;)

Steampunk is the next big thing. It's all over the clubs already. I think a lot of AS people are into steampunk actually.

Personally I'm more into dieselpunk because it's more evil villain/military history/dystopia than the Victorian era of steampunk. A lot of steampunks are into the elegance of the Victorian era and as someone who isn't (and will never be) elegant I'd much rather cruise with the dieselpunk aesthetic. Brazil was an absolute classic. I'd also suggest The City of Lost Children.

I like the style and media but don't follow the dress code myself. I enjoyed Steamboy:

NW Portland does have a steampunk feel
and so does Downtown Portland.

I don't understand steampunk well enough
to be a fan of it.
