I find they often listen to reason or else can be bribed to move elsewhere.

Sorry. I noticed you were specifically referring to "goddamned" spiders. Spiders that have been damned by god are generally of a rather recalcitrant nature and should be dealt with with hand grenades, napalm and recordings of James Taylor turned up really loud.

Yes I have heard this too, and I would look it up but I know pictures would accompany the text so nooooooooooo.

I can appreciate why people feel it is bad to kill them, but I get so freaked out by them that I cannot appreciate them the same way many of you do. Sorry- I cannot have them in the house.

If only there was a way you could make them leave without hurting them. Personally I don't mind them, I just think it'd be would cruel to kill it because it is a spider.

Because capturing them requires getting much, much closer to them, as well as the chance of them crawling onto you or webbing down or whatever.

Killing them ensures that you're (usually) a safe distance from them, and they won't be going anywhere else.

I hope you're joking!
Camel spiders aren't even spiders. They aren't venemous, either. I've seen one in real life, they're just a creepy–but harmless arachnid.
Ugh....SO creepy, though. XD

I feel you, not wanting to sleep. :(. I can't rest until the spider is dead and flushed. If I were you, I'd probably force myself to corner it, and get it with a bundle of toilet paper or a dish. I can't squish them, it makes me gag.

Since many are talking about spiders in space etc.... some scientists did give spiders various drugs....... I would love to have done that, even if I do hate spiders! Anyway... spiders on drugs (a very serious and not at all stupid video) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p2HipedgM3I

I was alluding to the size and creep factor of them only. I honestly didn't know if they were poisonous or not. Usually the more venomous spiders in the USA are quite small, but when I see a big fat honking one I freak the hell out. It makes no difference to me if they are poisonous because I am so afraid of them.

Ahh, oaky. Sorry for taking that literally. :P
Me too. I hate the fast, small ones as well. Jumpers and big ones are the worst.

At my old home before I moved we had loads of jumpers I thought a cricket and a spider got together to make these little jumpers.

If you hate bugs, and you want it to rain, kill it. If you respect all life, scoop him up, in a glass and dump him in the grass.

Why if you want it to rain?

Get your cat into the room, and have the spider catch its attention. It'll be gone in no time. :D

Uggh, spiders are my one truly irrational fear too. I haven't shot one yet, but I don't rule out that ever happening should I encounter a sufficiently large and hairy one

I know I guy who emptied a gun on a wolf spider while screaming at the top of his lungs. He was camping with two buddies (one of whom I got this story from), who ran out of the tent thinking there was a bear, at least! The guy doing the shooting kept shouting, "Is it dead? Is it dead?" and it took them 10 minutes to get him calmed down enough for them to find out what he hoped was dead. They were unable to determine if he had killed it or not.

I hate spiders too, but not as much as my husband. He screams like a little girl and makes me kill them. (My sister carried the outside, though.) I have no problems with outside spiders and leave them alone, but they do not belong in my house!

One of my cats will catch a bumble bee in his paw and eat it in a matter of seconds. he likes crickets too, but he is banned from my room because he mauls my dolls.

But spiders are so harmless, and they kill the noisier bugs for you. All the little guy asks is for some space on your ceiling (not like you're using it anyway!).
