Who's Justin Bieber? Is he someone like Hannah Montana or Bill Kaulitz?

I completely and totally agree about what younger people are listening to nowadays!! I have very eclectic tastes, but the constant decline in music the world over in the past fifteen years or so (since i was about 10 years-old). I will listen to ALMOST any type of music out there depending on the artist, but the so-called "musicians" and "artists" that we are seeing appear more frequently are rubbish. Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, The Jonas Brothers, and dozens of other teeny bopper "artists" are raping the musical world. My tastes range from classical (from just before the Baroque Period to the Romantic Period) to some of the REAL MUSICIANS that got their start ini the seventies or so and are still going strong. Three forms of this nail on blackboard, stomach-churning, eardrum shattering, insults to music that I detest, refuse to listen to, and avoid at all costs are cRAP, S##Thop, and raeGAYton (yes, I am purposely misspelling and insulting them). The decline of good music that has depth, complexity, and lyrics that aren't mumbled and easily understandable is accelerating at a rapid pace. Give me some Johan de Meij, Buddy Holly, Roy Orbison, David Allan Coe, Johnny Cash, Chris Botti, Michael Buble, The Dell Vikings, The Monkees, The Kinks and other various artists from across the styles over the mind-numbingly reptitive bulls#!t of the modern music world. Hell, I would rather listen to Michael McDonald all day than listen to these little turds:
(any artist with the words Lil', Big, Ice, or Numerals as part of their name)
Beyonce
Jay-Z
T.I.
Justin Bieber
Miley Cyrus
Daddy Yankee
Sean Paul
Don Omar
Lady Gaga
The Pussycat Dolls
Chris Brown
and one of the biggest if not THE BIGGEST piece of trash in the "music" world of today
KANYE WEST

What ever happened to listening to the likes of the following:

Glen Miller
Harry Lillis (Bing Crosby)
Roy Orbison
The Kinks
The Monkees
Danny Kaye
Rene Pape
Amici Forever
Chris Botti
Michael Buble
Johan de Meij
Alan Chang
Igudesman and Joo
Roger Miller
Dion di Mucci
The Big Bopper (the ONE exception to my rule about BIG being in a name)
Aerosmith
Black Sabbath
Velvet Revolver
AC/DC
Garth Brooks
and the list goes on.....

How people can be entertained by the childish lyrics and actions of these "artists" (and I use that term in the loosest sense for modern ones) is beyond me. Songs with lyrics like:
"Lick my neck, lick my back, lick my p^@$y, lick my crack," have no place in real music. Give me D.A.C. , or any of the listed above over these little killers of true music and musicianship any day. Oooppsssss!! !! Sorry that it turned into a rant. later

I'd rather listen to The Beatles, for 8 hours straight, than listen to today's music, and they bring back bad memories.

No Hannah Montana is a Disney star. Justin Bieber came out of left centre. Actually, Bieber's home town is only a 25 minute drive from where I live.

I don't really care for Disney Channel's music or Justin Beiber. I miss the old music. :(

I just dislike the philosophy that most young kids believe in now a days where in "If I do not like this I am not cool".

I believe in broadening children's taste of different music and art (As long as age appropriate) to help them find what they love and be more in tuned to themselves than what the media tells them to enjoy.

I let my little brothers listen to what I enjoy and let them sample different genres.

In short I wish I could encourage people to love what they love not what M(oney)-Tv tells them to.

I think that there should be programs like that, in all the elementary schools and high schools. That is the population that needs such programs, the most. It should also be mandatory that all adolescents take courses like that, from the time their 10, until they graduate from high school.

I agree because I'm tired of when I watch tv it is pretty much people trying to tell you to like something just because drone A, B, and C say they like it.

As for the Metal Trance I believe it could be done good but they didn't mix it right or maybe Trance and Metal are two great tastes that don't taste great together lol.

I hate comments like this, you are talking rubbish. Naughty lyrics are far from a recent thing. In fact, I think you'll find most mainstream music is sexual one way or another.

Music today is terrible. The only thing I'm into that's going on in the 2010s is the electropop scene. Lights, Owl City, La Roux, etc. Not a Gaga fan though, I guess she has a couple good songs but I don't see the hype.

lol I still remember those depressing child years when I didn't have much friends, the sounds of backstreets boys and N'sync actually got me through some bad times. But I agree Justin Beiber is just bad news, he doesn't even appear to be trying. Maybe you should listen to indie music like edward sharpe and the magnetic zeros, city and colour, or she and him:
