Do you believe in the Spirit World?

I do believe in the spirit world. A couple of years ago we had a spirit living in our apartment. It was very weird, because I was not able to see it (I could only "perceive" him with peripheral vision; it was like a shadow), but I could feel it. Everytime I "perceived" him he felt so sad. My then 3 years old was able to see him, and she wanted to play with him. He just dissapeared. We had to travel for about a yer, and when we returned the spirit was not here anymore.

A large part of why I don't believe is that perception does not equal reality.

But if it can't be seen or percieved in any known way then there's nothing to base any claims on apart from personal experience supported by flawed perceptions.

When there is no way to prove or disprove something, each individual is free to use their perceptions to decide whether it's true or not.

Flawed is your opinion.

I think personal experiences are valid for forming ideas, concepts and beliefs from.

I wouldn't say that a single person's senses were 'flawed' or fallible, that just makes it seem like humans are bad or wrong or crap. Each human has a subjective take on the universe, and that's the way it is. It could be seen as a feature rather than a flaw.

Each culture takes some of those subjective views and 'canonises' them and decides they are the consensus reality. Some of those views can be as 'wrong' as any arrived at in the mind of any individual. The current majority reality I encounter in my daily life seems highly wacky to me.

Reality is plural and fluid. No human has an objective view of reality. No group has an objective view of reality.

In some ways, the central issue between autistic people (and other neurologically or mentally different folks) and NTs is one of 'reality diversity', with one reality being more acceptable than another.

Do spirits exist? Possibly. Probably. Maybe.

That doesn't mean though that if they do their existence is any less confusing and contrary than our own.
