Have you ever googled your own name ?

None of the results in the top 50 are even remotely related to me. I actually find this to be quite surprising. I know I don't use my real name on the internet, but wow, I thought I'd see myself on Google somewhere.

There's a guy living in the same city that has same name as I have. Once a co-worker who did not know my cell number had called the other guy, and he had said that he is already used to people calling him instead of me. Many years ago, when I cancelled my modem Internet service when I switched to a fixed line, the company kept sending me invoices. When I called them, it turned out they had cancelled the other guy's service because he had the same name and similar address. The poor guy has suffered a lot because of me.

wouldn't do me any good, I have a super common name.

The first website that comes up for my name seems to be a company that makes jam. It comes up a lot as a surname and is a pretty rare first name (My name is Bernardin, if you were wondering).

Hmm... Not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing for this to come up first

No, but I once googled the name of a former employer. A total nutjob who threatened people into doing unpaid overtime. I was hoping he'd be in prison for assault (or worse) or doing time for a major fraud.

Turned out the business world loves him and he's doing really well. Bast**d!

I have now googled my own name.
The first result that comes up is a biography of a rear admiral in the us navy with the same name as myself. with the exception of a second middle inital H.

Yep. The other me is a softball player. I have a pretty common name (first and last) so there are some random other people too. If you look real hard you can find stuff about me from math meet results, other school stuff, and my great grandmother's obituary.
