This is a good example of certain phrases having different meanings outside the US. There's
an interesting thread in the General forum called 'Do words have different meanings for
Americans.. '
'Taking the piss' means 'to make fun of someone' in other English speaking countries.
As you're going to marry Hale_Bopp it will be useful to learn these phrases in order to avoid
potential misunderstandings !
