I was bitten by a dog when I tried to pet it as a kid and was too young and stupid to understand that not all dogs are friendly. Also this dog didn't give the usual "do not touch" warnings i.e. growling or barking. Such dogs now frighten me a lot, especially pit bulls, and it makes my blood boil when their owners think it's funny or insult you or when their dogs brutally kill or injure an innocent person or someone else's pet and they blame the victim and say, "My sweet widdle puppy would never hurt anyone".

I used to have a so-called best friend as a kid who told me that if dogs taste your blood they get really savage and then literally eat you alive. That didn't help, either.

When I was a teenager I was once bitten by my pet hamster, but that was my fault for bothering him while he was asleep. Hamsters can be quite vicious! I like guinea pigs a lot better, the ones I've owned never bit.

same, lots of times. looots of times. been keeping hamster since i was 7, many rodents and pets of the cage variety get 'cage aggression', territorial.
when i try to take them out of their enclosures i always coax them onto a running wheel and pick them up that way. i also have an igloo shaped hideout, sometimes i use it go gently scoop them and take them out that way. once they're out of the cage they're a lot sweeter of course. or at least mine are. it all depends on their disposition.

my ex-LO would bite (love bite or hate bite?) me oftentimes, on my arm mostly. she once bit me on my left forearm and it left a mark for 5 months.
