Explain Your Avatar and Username

my avatar is me and my username is my name, Amy Marie. im not very clever.. im on another forum and my username on there is bloodlines, after my favorite song, i guess thats a bit more clever.

Username - "Krabo" is Esperanto for Crab, my astrological sign. Later it turned out that there are Krabo bikes but I didn't intend this connection.

Avatar - First I used to have different variants of crab and lobster images. Then I found this mouse in the swing. I thought she is so cute I want to have her as my avatar, and I renamed her Piu. I was careful enough to ask native English speakers if the word "piu" means anything obscene. Nobody said it does, so Piu she is.

Mine is my first initial and a word similar to my last name. Plus, I'm just a huge dork.

Cephalopods are my obsession at the moment. How adorable is this octopus?

Any consensus on the colors the new flag should have? I have always admired black-red-yellow flags like those of Germany, Belgium, and Papua New Guinea. A red Kiwi on black background drinking yellow beer?

Four designs for a new flag have been shortlisted, and will be voted on in the first referendum:

Many designs used one or more of the colours red, white and blue (from the current flag), along with black (which is NZ's unofficial sporting colour, like orange is for the Netherlands). Green was popular too in other designs, perhaps representing the NZ affinity for nature. As for yellow, it doesn't really strike me as being representative of anything to do with NZ.

But the four shortlisted designs have been widely criticised for being uninspiring. On top of that (or perhaps partly even because of it), most NZers prefer to keep the current flag.

Bottom row to the right doesn't look like a flag. It should definitively not win the referendum. It has no vexillological merit.

That one shows a koru, which is a common motif used in Māori art. I don't know much about vexillology, but it least has representative value to NZers (or Māori, at least). A simpler koru design is used in the Māori flag. I'm not particularly keen on any of the designs, but I wouldn't mind the top right one; it's certainly the most well-known of the four.

I do know that the design shows Māori values but it doesn't look like a flag. International flag. Sorry, just my opinion.

No need to be sorry. It's good to hear international opinion. After all, the flag will represent us to the world.

My username is simply my name (Ethos) and NKA standing for Never Known Alien.

my username and avatar are both of the character kofuku (who goes by the trade name ebisu kofuku) from the anime noragami! i chose her because she's me, basically!
