I've never been a victim of bullying here in a typical sense.

I've been on the receiving end of random unprovoked attacks but that was always the other person's problem (on drugs or alcohol most likely).

Usually, if someone attacks me, they have the axe to grind, not me.

All right, sir....it does have something to do with the topic.

People who are seen as "kissing butt" tend to be bullied.

Just because you are "nice," you are seen as being a butt-kisser. You are thought of as somebody who would compliment somebody to gain a favor or something.

I just wanted to emphasize that, even though I might compliment people sincerely, that I'm NOT a butt-kisser.

Thanks Kraftie!

I hear ya. The crazy thing is that people generally look down on bullying and slanderous comments. But when people try to do the opposite and compliment and build people up, this is also looked down upon... at least by some people.

I guess there is a point when it becomes obvious that a person might be kissing up, but I think generally it's not the case when people compliment or say good things about another.

Especially when I'm at work, I only give compliments when I mean it. And it is for the sake of raising morale and letting a person know they are on the right track. It's like positive reinforcement. Much better than beating on people. 8)

An axe is unable to penitrate my shielding, unless it happens to be made of a Laconian 40 alloy.

But yeah, I'm generally cool headed and don't take snotty remarks seriously. I view it as the other persons character flaw.

I admit when I'm at work and am stressed, it's much easier to take offense to people's comments.

To Catlover5 and everyone else who got bullied on here: I'm really sorry that happened to you. Remember that their attacks don't have anything to do with you, but rather with the sick people they are inside.

^^
I agree. Bullying is wrong. When I was younger and unaware of WP, I was not a popular kid at school and everyone around me took advantage of that.
