“Confirmed Bachelors” means gay? I am a baby boomer I never heard it used that way. It meant a single man who has an active sex life, who shows no signs of wanting to “settle down” and get married. Synonyms were “playboy”, “swinger”.

Well, euphemistically. The "real" meaning of the phrase is probably more akin to what you describe.

I'm not a professional. Take the word "gay" as another word for happy. More importantly, it's your body and your temple despite what any label out there is.

I heard that a rainbow must be a magical shield gay people create in the sky to protect themselves from god's homophobic wrath. :)

I find it extra amusing that some people still say it's god that makes a rainbow instead of the real scientific reasons. Or maybe they just think their kids won't understand when they ask how rainbows are made, or even they don't really know the real answer, so they use magic or god because it's so much simpler. Not everyone is as creative as Calvin's Dad.

Of course, rainbows have long been a symbol of joy, hope, optimism, good fortune, and other gay (meaning happy) things.

The Bible mentions a rainbow appearing after Noah's flood, which was supposedly a sign that god would never create a global flood to destroy the world again.

^Mostly, I think it's because they're not very sure on the scientific details and don't want their eight year old's correcting them :D
