I like Canada. at least the southern parts of it. though I was [in 1991] briefly in West Edmonton AB, in December- everything was frozen. but they had the world's largest shopping mall there, 3 stories tall and 150 blinkin' acres! so I paid 'em a visit. other than that, I far prefer Washington state in the western half.

What province in the Southern part of it? and what city to?

it was the province of Alberta, i was in the northern part of it. Alberta is due north of Montana.

West Edmonton is about 500 miles north of Kalispell or Whitefish in Montana.

Can Americans and Canadians tell each other apart? how?

Can Americans go to Canada and blend in? Can Canadians go to America and blend in?

Or they are noticed as foreigners immediately.

Canada's security apparatus told me i stuck out like a sore thumb. i spoke differently, dressed differently, behaved differently. typical yank. the accent would give me away. i can tell a Canadian when s/he visits down this side of the border, as well. i don't know if most other amuuuuricans can similarly spot a Canook.

Pacific Northwest all the way! The dense rain forests, serpentine rivers, translucent lakes, welcoming sculptured parks, expansive ocean, Victorian houses, endless trails, Indian casinos, and of course, the majestic snow-capped mountains.

Calgary, Alberta, is closer. A place like Lethbridge, Alberta, is even closer.

Winnipeg, Manitoba is very close to North Dakota.

I don't know that I'd want to live there due to the high cost of living and I've only been as far south as San Franciso, but I love the coast and northern California.

There are even some times that Americans and Canadians don't even consider each other foreigners.

What about Michigan and the Midwest you like so much? The things I like about the Midwest is that it has a low cost of living, it's culture, nice people, and that it has a good regional cuisine.

How is New York City treating you? and are the people of NYC more introverted or extroverted?
