I can relate to not enjoying public restroom smells but I always found sharing the bathroom with family even worse. Home bathrooms are small so the smell is more concentrated than in public restrooms. I missed my school bus before because I wouldn't brush my teeth after my father had taken a dump. I can't handle the thought of putting a toothbrush in my mouth with such a nasty smell in the air. It takes at least 15 minutes for the smell to depart from a home bathroom and odor sprays don't help much. I tried to make a rule that you have to flush immediately for each turd that drops. I called it smell mitigation . It was hard to get people to remember to follow it though. This is such a great topic isn't it?

I'll agree with that. My uncle is gay, but I read the Bible plainly and cannot accept that lifestyle for myself. I leave you to your own decisions, but like I said earlier, life is a testing ground. I want to pass and not fail just because it's easier for me. I would like to get along with everyone, but I cannot be more of a friend to my own life and this world than I am to God. I find it to be true that if I have no friends in this life I may be lonely, but if I am not God's friend my life is nothing.

Oh yeah, home bathrooms are the worst... especially windowless ones!


In our old place we had a shaft door (all the bathrooms in the building surrounded these shafts; each bathroom had a bathroom-window-sized shaft door in the top half of the wall). You opened it when you took a shower or whatever. But people would open their shaft doors for all kinds of reasons. I preferred jsut to keep it shut.

Kind of off topic but it's a nice joke that my dad said once while taking his order at McDonald's: "I'm going to have 2 #1's, and then after that I'm going to take a #2." It was pretty funny! lol

Well don't go to Vietnam cos they do it in the street there, number 2s and everything. I still remember being in a park in Hanoi with a large pond with a concrete edge and this woman sat her kid on the edge of the concrete with his bum hanging over the water so he could poop. ugh.

when you gotta go, you gotta go, thats really all there is to it. I'm pretty sure nobody enjoys situations like that, but since its a public bathroom, i don't plan on spending a great deal of extra time there, and im pretty sure its the same with every one else. Thats just one of those things everyone has to deal with, AS or not
