Every couple days I ride for an hour at a municipal park.

Every Saturday afternoon I play flute at a restaurant in Fairfax VA.

At home, I have several favorite hangouts.
Outside: the porch (OMG porch swing!), under another outdoor roof, and anywhere in the yard.
Inside: a room on the SE corner of the house, which has big windows and great acoustics.

At home in my room or on my PC

Generally in the computer room at home.

I sometimes go to the library but don't on the weekdays as school children go in there after school and make noise that echos through the whole library and hurts my ears.

Nature reserve about 100 metres away from my house on a sunny day. There are sometimes ducks there and I will take some bread to feed them. Even if there isn't ducks I will go there to relax.

That can happen anytime in a public place. What works for me is to wear earplugs. My favorite are Flents Quite Time.


I found a nice public hangout today - the Panera restaurant chain. Their tunafish sandwhich on whole grain bread is fantastic. I ate that for my dinner, and then hung out for approx 90 minutes afterwards using my laptop with their highspeed wi-fi connection. You still have to contend with noisey people. Here again, earplugs were my saving grace.
