Only the talents? Well, that's okay with me.

My very best talent I'm most proud of...

That I'm good at seeing things with different eyes and explaining them different, which enables me to explain anything to anyone when I take my time.

I love that most I think, it's good for me and other people and that's cool.

Actually I have that too, and I thank God that I was born into an English-speaking family, since the most widely-spoken language in the world is English. :)

Actually, more ppl in the world speak Mandarin. But I guess that's my little "talent". The ability to absorb random pointless trivia and save it 'til it might ever be needed.

I make a good cuppa tea, too, apparently.

Music... that's about it.
Although - I am alright at making a few seldom people feel a lot better for a bit of time when they're down...

I have many talents, yet there are too many people that are superior to me in those talents. :(

I can juggle up a storm for about thirty seconds. I can draw, if depicting asymmetry counts. Also good at copying pictures, like Berserker said. I used to draw Spyro and Spongebob all the time. I can shoot pool rather well. All of these things I do best when alone.

I used to draw Spongebob too. He was my obsession for awhile.

I'm good at drawing yet not exceptional.

My most useful strength must be my imagination combined with my visual abilities. When I'm not in a state of 'thinker's block', it all flows like a stream. This is why I'm also often called a talented writer and I indeed consider writing as another thing I'm good at.

I'm the most skilled in making a fool out of myself in the eyes of the others.

That's about it.

I can understand a lot of concepts far more easily than most people seem to, and am naturally very flexible. I also have a strong bond with hamsters, for no apparant reason.

I am an excellent pianist, but my biggest problem is not knowing where I stand in relation to the best (and I mean the very best). For this reason I want to go to a first-rate conservatory get a degree there. It would be nice to make a career out of this, and it would be a sort of proving grounds to see how good I really am. :)

My biggest difficulty right now is getting through my undergraduate classes. After that I'll have to put together a program and audition for several schools. I'm aiming high, there's no doubt about that.

After some research on this matter of posting my own talents here, reading this is what caused me to decide not to do it:

Quote:
A wise person acts without claiming the results as his; he achieves his merit and does not rest (arrogantly) in it: -- he does not wish to display his superiority.

A wiser person understands the proper context of this. I don't think this thread was designed for people to gain anything from other by acknowledging their own talents, but only to affirm their own self-worth. Too many people with AS and similar disorders often only hear negative things about themselves, and speaking openly about what they can do well in a context like this is very therapuetic, as it helps them affirm that they do possess skills and talents that should be valued.

You know, there's a bit of irony here. If you really wanted to be "above" the "arrogance" of these people, why did you post this? Does that not display the presumption of superiority itself? Do you want kudos for boasting how virtuous and wise you are now after posting this? It doesn't seem the lesson's sunk in. LOL.

People tell me I'm good at drawing. But I couldn't make the pictures look like what was in my head no matter how much I tried, and drawing became a chore, so I basically gave it up. I doodle rarely when I feel inspiration.

I also make some good stir fry and fajitas, my own recipe. Actually had an old roommate(He moved in with me and #2bro during 2001, moved out same year) tell me he missed my cooking.

And I'm pretty good at following directions on recipes. This I think is a real talent. My #2 brother couldn't do this to save his bacon.

I like this thread. Because it actually says talents and not interests; so many people tend to view them as the same thing, but I am always frustrated when people tell me to put "drawing" amongst my "interests" just because I "can and do draw". Sorry for the mini-rant. heh.

Anyway. I would usually rather die than to admit that I'm good at anything, but I suppose that I currently do need a reminder that I'm not crap at everything I do. :nerdy:

So. Depth is good at... writing, drawing, languages, singing, running and cooking. She thinks. :study: Yes.

I guess then I must be an arrogant fool. Why, oh why, did I know that this would be the reaction to my post but yet go ahead and post it? How could anyone possibly know (or care) that I sincerely would love to tell others about what I can do too but refrain for fear of doing something wrong? My talent must be for screwing things up in ways that no one else can and this is a perfect example. :(
